Membership & Playing Fees

Braids United is a friendly club with members of all ages and playing ability.

As Braid Hills is a public course, Braids United membership and playing fees are separate. There is no requirement to purchase a season ticket from Edinburgh Leisure in order to join the club so if you do not play enough to justify the cost of a full playing membership elsewhere but would like to retain, or obtain, a handicap without a large outlay then the Braids United may be an option for you. We are fully affiliated with Scottish Golf, meaning that your handicap is kept up to date and your handicap history is recorded on Handicap Master.

If you are interested in joining the club, you are welcome to join us for a round or just come up to see our facilities before or after a Saturday round, usually around 11am or after 3pm. Tee times are currently between 11.00 and 12.30. Please contact us in advance if possible, so that we know to expect you.

We own our clubhouse which is situated opposite the car park at the very top of Braid Hills Approach. Facilities in the upstairs clubroom include bar and kitchen, tv and wifi, pool table and dartboard, while on the ground floor is a small locker room with lockers that can be rented by members for a nominal fee. We also own part of the ground immediately to the front of the building and will enjoy an after-round drink outside when the weather permits.

We hold handicap qualifying competitions, strokeplay and Stableford, almost every Saturday and on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer season, and remain active through the winter months. We also have knock-out match play competitions for which players arrange their own tee times to suit, and two outings a year to other courses in the area. We encourage members to mix freely, with everyone having the opportunity to play with all other members.
